System-state Emulation is the basic concept on which all VX Modules and encabulator-type machines are based. It's core theory is an alternate method of computing - in which instead of processing digits to derive a mathematical solution, solutions can be derived by observing natural real-world system states. Since there are an infinite number of natural systems to be observed, they can be applied to an infinite number of mathematical or logical problems, solving them without the need of running numbers.

The process of deriving useful information from a natural system is done using a process called encabulation, in which active points of orthogonoenergetic conglomeration are recorded from a statistically unbalanced chemical solution, and correlations are drawn among them. Recording the motion of these active points throughout a time period known as a system cycle will yield enough data to emulate the same system at a later point in time, even using different materials.

System-state emulation is inherently two-parted, observation and application. Encabulators, true to their name, are only capable of observation, requiring a separate computing unit to apply the data, while VX Modules can both observe and apply.
